MEP Lead / MEP Contracts Manager (2 Positions) - Pharma Projects


Location: Cork or Kildare

Company: Leading Building and Engineering Firm

Type: Staff or Contract (Senior Role)

Experience: 15 years in Pharma with a mechanical bias

Duration: Minimum 12 months, potential for long-term


Responsibilities:


- Lead MEP systems delivery on projects, ensuring they are on time, on budget, and meet safety, quality, and energy objectives.

- Guide and motivate teams in applying MEP management systems for consistent integration and commissioning of MEP systems.

- Promote and support departmental management systems and procedures.

- Assist in aligning building services with company vision and objectives.

- Support MEP technical and commercial aspects of project bids.

- Provide guidance in tendering and awarding MEP packages.

- Ensure teams manage temporary electrical requirements and resources effectively.

- Oversee MEP project delivery, planning, and coordination.

- Coordinate with utility companies and manage infrastructure requirements.

- Track equipment procurement, delivery, and quality checks.

- Identify and mitigate project risks.

- Manage quality assurance processes and inspections.

- Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and energy control procedures.

- Develop and manage commissioning and handover plans.

- Facilitate stakeholder relations with clients, architects, consultants, and suppliers.


Experience & Skills:


- Over 10 years of experience in managing large MEP projects.

- Strong understanding of MEP supply chain dynamics.

- Competence in all project phases from estimating to handover.

- Technical, interpersonal, and commercial skills for project delivery.

- Knowledge of health and safety policies and practices.

- Familiarity with QMS systems and commissioning management.

- Initiative, communication, and team motivation skills.

- Organizational and mentoring abilities.


Qualifications/Training:


- Mechanical or Electrical academic qualification related to MEP.

- Membership in industry-related professional institutions.

- H&S management training.

- Planning, programming, and project management skills.

- Live energies and arc flash training.

- Desirable: Higher diploma or degree in technical or construction-related subject, professional accreditation with relevant institutes, BIM fundamentals.
