Group Engineering Manager - Cork - M&E Contractor
A leading Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation contractor, is seeking a Group Engineering Manager for their Engineering Offices in Cork, offering exciting growth and promotion opportunities.
About the Company:
- Continues to be a leading contractor in a dynamic and growing market.
- Experienced in project delivery across various sectors including Pharmaceutical, Data Centres, Commercial, Power, and Waste to Energy.
- Engineering remit extending into CSA and OSM solutions across sectors.
Salary range: Up to €70 per hour, 45 hours per week contractor.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the mechanical, electrical, and CSA team, ensuring designs meet fabrication, installation, and commissioning requirements.
- Develop and innovate the engineering process to support engineering, preconstruction, and modular capabilities.
- Support engineering activities across multiple projects, including peer reviews and commissionability checks.
- Liaise with third-party engineering houses and integrate them into projects when required.
- Provide direction, assistance, and design solutions to project engineering teams and project managers.
- Manage engineering induction process with new engineers and graduates, driving success of graduate and scholarship programmes.
- Mentor and ensure professional development of engineers within the support team and wider project teams.
- Ensure correct selection and technical compliance of equipment, liaising with construction teams and supply chain.
- Support projects from pre-construction to commissioning.
- Report to the Group Engineering Director.
Educational Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Electrical, Mechanical, or Sustainable Engineering or equivalent.
Experience and Skills Required:
- Minimum 8 years of design and construction experience.
- Knowledge of design codes, standards, and regulations.
- Proficiency in 3D software platforms.
- Ability to troubleshoot field problems.
- Experience in commissioning.
- Knowledgeable on Sustainability, Health, Safety, and Environmental systems.
- Commercial understanding.
- Commitment to CPD.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Travel to various sites in Ireland, the UK, and Europe may be required based on project needs.
