Role Overview: The Leveraged Finance group is seeking lateral associates with at least two years of experience representing banks, private credit lenders, and/or borrowers in connection with complex lending transactions. This includes syndicated and bilateral credit facilities, acquisition financings, and other leveraged and investment-grade lending transactions. This role is ideal for driven and motivated individuals who are eager to add immediate value in a dynamic and expanding client-facing practice.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent banks, private credit lenders, and borrowers in complex lending transactions.
  • Draft and negotiate primary deal documents for syndicated and bilateral credit facilities, acquisition financings, and other leveraged lending transactions.
  • Manage deals from inception to closing, including coordinating teams and handling client communications.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across practice areas to deliver comprehensive legal solutions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory developments, and legal precedents impacting leveraged finance.


Qualifications:

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active admission to the relevant state Bar.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in leveraged finance, representing banks, private credit lenders, and/or borrowers.
  • Proven experience in running deals, managing teams, and drafting primary deal documents.
  • Strong analytical and drafting skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Located in, or willing to relocate to, Charlotte, NC.


Salary: The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $235,000 to $435,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, and, if applicable, the location from which the applicant will be performing the job.
