Overview: A prestigious Am Law 200 firm is seeking an experienced employment litigator to join its California office. This unique opportunity stems from a recent merger between the firm and a defense-side Labor & Employment boutique, aimed at expanding the firm's Southern California presence and enhancing client services.

Ideal Candidate: We're looking for candidates with at least 8 years of experience in employment law, capable of defending a broad range of employment cases throughout California. The position is suitable for experienced California employment litigators, regardless of portable book size.

Key Responsibilities:

• Defend employment lawsuits of all types through trial
• Develop case strategies with limited supervision
• Interact with clients and opposing counsel
• Take and defend depositions
• Attend mediations
• Prepare for and participate in trials and arbitrations throughout California

Required Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• California bar admission
• 8+ years of focused experience in employment litigation
• Strong knowledge of California and federal employment laws, civil procedure, discovery, and trial practice
• Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience supervising junior attorneys and paralegals

Desired Qualifications:

• Class Action / PAGA experience
• Employee mobility experience

Compensation and Benefits:

• Competitive salary range: $225,000 - $300,000+ (without portable business)
• $300,000 to over $500,000+ (with portable business, based on transferable business and other factors)
