Financial Services Transactional Associate Attorney (Mid-Level)

Position Overview:

We are looking for a Mid-Level Financial Services Transactional Associate Attorney to join a highly-rated and dynamic financial services practice at an Am Law 100 Firm. This role can be based in our New York or Washington, D.C. offices, with flexibility for other U.S. locations on a case-by-case basis. Join a diverse team working on innovative financial services and fintech transactions.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Transactional Management:
  • Manage various components of financial services transactions independently, ensuring seamless execution and compliance.
  • Strategic Partnerships:
  • Work on strategic partnerships in the payments and lending space, including agreements related to installment lending, credit cards, deposit products, prepaid accounts, and other payment products.
  • Drafting and Analysis:
  • Exhibit strong analytical, drafting, and communication skills to effectively support complex transactions.
  • Client Representation:
  • Represent banks, fintechs, merchants, and payment processors in a wide range of financial services transactions.
  • Agreements and Contracts:
  • Work on agreements such as Banking as a Service (BaaS), co-brand credit card agreements, merchant acquiring agreements, data aggregation agreements, network incentive agreements, and BIN sponsorship agreements.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Experience:
  • 3 – 6 years of experience in financial services transactions, with a proven track record of managing transaction components independently.
  • Education:
  • Strong academic background in law with demonstrated interest in financial services.
  • Bar Admission:
  • Must be admitted to the bar in the state where the attorney practices.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent analytical and drafting skills.
  • Effective communication and leadership capabilities.
  • Familiarity with strategic partnership work in the payments and lending space.

Salary and Benefits:

The annual salary ranges for this position, depending on location, are as follows:

  • New York, NY: $250,000 to $345,000
  • Washington, DC: $250,000 to $345,000
