Chemical and Life Sciences Associate

Location: Los Angeles or San Francisco


Job Description:

A leading law firm is seeking an associate with 2-3 years of experience to join its Chemical and Life Sciences practice group in the Los Angeles or San Francisco office. The associate will work with a team of litigators on consumer products-related matters, including California’s Proposition 65, false advertising claims, consumer class actions, and products liability.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on consumer products-related matters, including California’s Proposition 65, false advertising claims, consumer class actions, and products liability.
  • Engage in meaningful, hands-on legal work, including research, writing, and arguing motions.
  • Participate in preparing for and attending hearings, depositions, and the occasional trial.
  • Receive training and mentorship throughout your career.


Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Membership in the California Bar, active and in good standing.
  • 2-3 years of experience in litigation, with strong research, analysis, and writing skills.
  • Experience in defending and taking depositions, motion practice, and brief writing is preferred.
  • A background or interest in science is a plus, though not required.


Compensation and Benefits:

  • Anticipated salary range: $225,000 to $250,000, dependent on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
