About the Corporate Practice

The firm’s Corporate Group advises clients across industries on a wide array of transactional and governance matters. This includes mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, recapitalizations, and joint ventures, as well as ongoing corporate governance, takeover preparedness, and other strategic advisory work that extends beyond pending deals. The practice is known for helping clients navigate critical business initiatives with tailored, innovative solutions.


About the Role

The firm is seeking mid-level to senior associates (JD classes 2017–2021) to join the Corporate practice in Chicago. This is an opportunity to handle significant responsibilities on sophisticated transactions for premier clients.


Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, joint ventures, and general corporate matters.
  • Manage or contribute to the full lifecycle of complex deals, including structuring, due diligence, drafting, negotiation, and closing.
  • Counsel clients on corporate governance and strategic business planning outside the context of active transactions.
  • Collaborate closely with attorneys across practice groups to deliver seamless, business-focused legal advice.


Key Qualifications

  • 3–7 years of experience in M&A and other general corporate transactional work, ideally within a respected law firm environment.
  • Experience managing the full lifecycle of a transaction is a plus.
  • Strong academic credentials and a commitment to providing high-quality work and client service.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting base salary for this Chicago position is expected to range from $310,000 to $435,000 annually, with actual compensation determined by skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
