Patent Prosecution Associate

Location: California (Orange County/Palo Alto/San Francisco)

A prominent AM Law 200 firm is seeking skilled Patent Agents with 2+ years of experience in patent prosecution within a law firm setting. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to a diverse range of patent matters.

This role involves all aspects of patent prosecution, including analyzing patents and scientific literature to support patent preparation, prosecution, and client counseling; drafting high-quality patent applications and prosecuting patent applications before the USPTO.

Requirements:

• Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• 2+ years of patent prosecution experience in a law firm environment.
• Ph.D. or M.S. in one or more of the following areas:
• Life Sciences: Cellular biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, genetics, immunology, virology, or a related field OR
• Chemistry: Chemistry, organic chemistry, pharmacy, or a related field.
• Broad technical knowledge in the relevant scientific area.
• Excellent academic record.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including fluency in English.
• Graduate and undergraduate transcripts are required.
• A writing sample is required.

The expected salary for this position is $110,000 - $180,000 annually. Final salary will be determined based on skills, relevant experience, and other job-related factors, in accordance with applicable law.
