Mid-level Litigation Associate (Science-Focused)

Location: Hybrid (Multiple Locations Available: New York, NY; Reston, VA; San Diego, CA; San Francisco, CA; Washington, DC)

Position Summary: We are seeking a mid-level associate to join our Litigation group. This role is open to candidates at any of our U.S. offices and offers hybrid work flexibility. The ideal candidate will have a strong science background and experience in products liability or complex commercial litigation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicating with clients and providing strategic legal advice.
  • Supervising junior associates and managing litigation matters.
  • Collaborating with experts and assisting with fact development for cases.
  • Drafting discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda.
  • Assisting with depositions and developing case strategy.


Education and Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from a nationally recognized law school with strong academic credentials.
  • A science-related degree (MD, MPH, PharmD, or Epidemiology) is required.
  • Admitted to practice law in the jurisdiction of application (or eligibility for admission).


Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of litigation experience, ideally gained at an AmLaw 100 firm.
  • Experience with products liability and/or complex commercial litigation is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries is a plus.

Work Environment & Expectations:

  • Hybrid work model with some in-office expectations depending on location and client needs.
  • Occasional travel may be required for case-related activities.
  • Ability to engage in both sedentary work (e.g., working at a computer for extended periods) and physical activities as needed.


Compensation & Benefits:

  • The annual salary range for this position, if hired in California, New York, or Washington, is $250,000 - $370,000, depending on location, experience, skills, and qualifications.
