Senior and Lead Engineers, Manager (m/f/x), Instrumentation
As the Manager (m/f/x) for Instrumentation, you will:
- Check and analyze contracts, understand the quality requirements for projects, identify the risks and opportunities from a technical perspective.
- Develop engineering execution concepts and implement processes to achieve objectives and meet budgets.
- Prepare inquiries, follow up on bids, and negotiate contracts for external engineering services.
- Develop and carry out engineering procedures, techniques, and sequences (mechanical, electronic, chemical, process, system) to ensure quality and timely delivery.
- Coordinate with and support design and engineering teams to align activities and meet delivery targets.
- Coordinate and review basic and detailed engineering work, both internal and subcontracted, within your discipline as well as from package unit suppliers.
- Support project members from other disciplines in terms of your discipline's engineering.
- Cooperate with project management, engineering management, and customers' representatives.
- Develop convincing optimized technical concepts that benefit the project and ensure client satisfaction and sustainability, securing our technical leadership. Your decisions will have a significant impact on current and future products and services.
- Conduct engineering analyses using scientific principles to produce and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Take end-to-end responsibility for assigned equipment and technology.
- Provide coaching and training within your responsibility area, guiding and influencing others when needed.
- Implement quality control, audits, and inspections at engineering service suppliers and manufacturers.
To succeed, you will need:
- Minimum bachelor's degree, preferably master's degree or equivalent, in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience as an instrumentation engineer for international plant engineering and process industries construction projects, with a good understanding of electrification and automation.
- Plus, at least 3 years of experience in the role of a lead engineer.
- Excellent knowledge of instrumentation and recognized global expertise.
- Deep business and industry understanding and project management professional skills like PMP/PMBOK.
- Proficiency in at least one CAE tool like COMOS, Smart Plant, PDMS.
- Proficiency in design tools like CONVAL.
- Proficiency in creating workflows within document management systems like Blue Cielo MERIDIAN.
- Very good knowledge of international applicable standards and regulations.
- Good practice in quality, environment, health, and safety (QEHS) procedures and assessments.
- Proficiency in MS Office programs, VISIO, AUTOCAD, and related software.
- Fluent spoken and written English, with other languages being an asset, preferably German.
- Basic leadership skills and ability to successfully work with others in a matrix.
- Willingness for shorter business trips, e.g., site visits and project meetings.
- High individual responsibility for results, structured, goal-oriented, reliable, and self-driven working attitude.
