Health Care Associate (3–5 Years)

Job Summary
A nationally recognized Health Care practice group is seeking two mid-level associates to join their Chicago office. The associates will provide legal support and guidance to clients in the health care industry, working with various sectors including academic medical centers, hospitals, health care investors, pharmaceutical companies, and managed care organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide legal guidance on health care matters
- Advise clients on compliance with federal, state, and local health care laws, including representation in government audits and investigations
- Participate in due diligence and assessments for merger transactions
- Conduct legal research and analysis on health care laws and industry trends
- Draft, review, and negotiate health care-related agreements and policies
- Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory filings
- Work with partners to prepare legal memoranda, presentations, and client communications
- Stay informed on changes in health care laws and industry best practices
Required Skills/Abilities
- 3–5 years of health care law experience, preferably at a law firm
- Strong knowledge of regulatory issues, including fraud and abuse, False Claims Act, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, HIPAA/HITECH, managed care contracting, Medicare, and Medicaid
- Excellent academic credentials and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the Illinois Bar, in good standing
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in coaching junior associates is a plus
