Role Overview: The firm's London office has an opportunity for a mid-level associate to join the Leveraged Finance & Private Credit Group. The team represents an impressive list of private credit funds, banks, private equity sponsors, and corporate borrowers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent private credit funds, private equity sponsors, and corporate borrowers in leverage finance and private credit transactions.
- Draft and negotiate legal documents related to debt instruments throughout the capital structure.
- Manage multi-jurisdictional transactions and coordinate with international teams.
- Engage in business development activities, including meeting clients, attending business meetings, and training junior associates.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory developments in the European and US markets.
Skills and Experience Required:
- 5-7 years’ experience in leverage finance or private credit.
- Keen interest in and knowledge of leverage finance, private credit, and debt instruments throughout the capital structure.
- Experience working with clients at private credit funds, private equity sponsors, and other financial institutions in the European and US markets.
- Experience with debt restructurings is helpful but not imperative.
- Experience managing multi-jurisdictional transactions.
- Experience working in a fast-paced transactional role.
- Driven, entrepreneurial, and interested in business development.
- Strong team player with an excellent academic background.
- Experience in a similar role at a leading legal practice in the UK.
Must-Have Qualifications for the Role:
- Leverage Finance / Private Credit Experience: 5-7 years of experience in leverage finance or private credit transactions.
- Client Interaction Experience: Experience working with clients at private credit funds, private equity sponsors, and other financial institutions in the European and US markets.
- Document Drafting Expertise: Proven experience in drafting and negotiating legal documents related to debt instruments throughout the capital structure.
- Transactional Role Experience: Experience managing multi-jurisdictional transactions and working in a fast-paced transactional environment.
