Starboard is building the Operating System for businesses — providing a single point of access to company formation, accounting, bookkeeping, and a full stack of future-financial services.
We are looking for someone to lead marketing, communications and client engagement strategy.
The CEO has spent over 20 years in marketing, and that means there is a high-degree of understanding and support for the work (of marketing and communications). This also means that the chosen Lead will not have to second-guess the effectiveness of strategy developed.
The CEO will work with the Lead in developing strategy (and will be all-up responsible), while the Lead owns execution.
The following ‘hats’ provide detail on what the role will require...
Writer / Brand Owner
• Develop an understanding (from CEO) of the brand, product and company vision.
• Learn, adopt, learn the brand persona (and ‘voice’ or ‘language’) through ongoing communication and work with CEO.
• Own / be responsible for all written marketing and customer communications.
• ‘Translate’ all business intentions into clear, written copy.
• Possibly (unless our head of product design does a better job), provide design directions to (outsourced) designers and manage the process for final output.
Website & Social Media Asset Owner
• Manage website and social media assets — and all communications through those channels.
• Create and manage systems for effective use of these assets (with marketing automation tools — i.e. HubSpot)
• Manage website and social media asset redesign projects — working with team and vendors to deliver high-quality, timely updates to serve business objectives.
• Own the design, development of landing pages for marketing campaigns.
Own the Customer Funnel & Journey
• Develop (with HQ and Client Relationship Directors) and implement a strategy — to create a unique, valuable, scalable client experience.
• Set up, refine, continually manage and optimise the customer funnel — to track all leads, conversation, various stages of client-engage, re-marketing and retargeting efforts.
Channel Partnership Manager
• Understand (from CEO) and continually develop (and invent) our channel partner strategy.
• Develop partner programs (with CEO) — including incentives, marketing collateral, educational collateral.
• Manage and track all partner relationships, and report on partner KPIs. SEO & Content Marketing [ Deploying Growth Hacks ]
• Implement SEO and Content Marketing Strategy (already developed).
• Identify opportunities ‘rank higher’ — by developing an understanding of customer personas, client requirements, market and regulatory developments; and running SEO and content marketing programs (considering partner joint-marketing tactics).
• Develop — and run — a system for continually improving our search rankings.
