Job Description:

A prestigious law firm is seeking an exceptionally skilled Of Counsel attorney with expertise in Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) energy regulatory proceedings. The ideal candidate will possess significant regulatory experience in supporting varied energy transactions, including those involving oil, gas, and power sectors (both renewable and traditional). Strong contract drafting and review skills are preferred, and international experience in infrastructure projects, as well as preparation of complex settlement agreements, is a plus.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in FERC energy regulatory proceedings, providing comprehensive regulatory support.
  • Handle diverse energy transactions, including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Transportation Service Agreements (TSAs), open seasons, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and regulatory diligence.
  • Draft and review contracts with precision and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate on international infrastructure projects and assist in preparing complex settlement agreements.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the District of Columbia Bar, active and in good standing.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in research, analysis, and persuasive writing.
  • Willingness to assume immediate responsibility and work as part of a high-performing, collaborative team.


Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $375,000 to $415,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
