Environmental Law Associate

Location: California/New York/Illinois/D.C

A prominent law firm is seeking a motivated Environmental Associate Attorney to join their thriving practice. They are looking for a candidate with a background in environmental law, preferably with experience in contaminated property matters, CERCLA/RCRA litigation, and environmental risk transfer. While they prefer candidates located in California (Los Angeles or San Francisco) or New York (Albany, Rochester, Long Island, or New York City), they will also consider candidates in Chicago and Washington, D.C.

This role will involve working on a variety of complex environmental legal matters, including:

• Investigation, remediation, and litigation of contaminated properties.
• CERCLA/RCRA litigation and compliance.
• Environmental risk transfer and insurance.

Requirements:

• J.D. degree and admission to the relevant state bar.
• At least one year of in-depth experience in environmental law.
• Science, engineering, or urban planning experience is preferred.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Excellent judgment and communication skills.
• A commitment to excellence.

Compensation:

The anticipated annual salary range for this position varies by location:

• Rochester, NY: $145,000 - $220,000
• Albany, NY: $145,000 - $220,000
• Chicago, IL: $225,000 - $350,000
• Washington, DC: $225,000 - $350,000
• New York, NY: $225,000 - $350,000
• Long Island, NY: $220,000 - $265,000
• Los Angeles, CA: $225,000 - $350,000
• San Francisco, CA: $225,000 - $350,000

In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, this role may be eligible for contingent compensation based on factors such as work performance, location, experience, education, and qualifications. The listed salary ranges are a good faith estimate and contingent compensation is not guaranteed.
