Role Overview: The New York office is seeking a midlevel associate to join the Financial Services Department, specializing in Derivatives. This is an excellent opportunity to join a rapidly growing, market-leading practice focused on representing commercial and investment banks on a diverse range of derivatives transactions for hedge funds, private equity funds, and registered investment companies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent commercial and investment banks in a wide array of derivatives transactions.
  • Draft and negotiate documents for complex and highly structured transactions.
  • Manage and move transactions forward independently while effectively managing client relationships.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across practice areas to deliver comprehensive legal solutions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory developments, and legal precedents impacting the derivatives market.


Qualifications:

  • J.D. degree and NY Bar admission required.
  • 3-6 years of derivatives experience at a financial institution or law firm.
  • Experience drafting documents for complex structures.
  • Strong analytical and drafting skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.


Salary: The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $260,000 to $390,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, and, if applicable, the location from which the applicant will be performing the job.
