About the Insurance Recovery Practice

The firm’s Chambers-ranked Insurance Recovery group is dedicated to enforcing policyholders’ rights to coverage under virtually every type of commercial insurance policy. The team handles a broad spectrum of matters, including some of the largest and most complex policyholder cases in the nation, helping clients secure coverage for significant losses and liabilities.


About the Role

The firm is seeking a senior practice attorney with at least five years of insurance policyholder experience to join its Insurance Recovery team. This is a non-partnership track position that features a lower annual billable hour requirement and provides the opportunity to work on sophisticated, high-stakes insurance coverage matters alongside experienced colleagues.


Key Responsibilities

  • Represent policyholders in coverage disputes and litigation across a wide range of commercial insurance issues
  • Analyze and interpret complex insurance policies to develop strategic guidance for clients
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents, and participate in discovery, negotiations, and settlements
  • Collaborate closely with partners and team members to advance client goals efficiently and effectively

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of insurance policyholder experience at an AmLaw 200 law firm or policyholder-focused boutique
  • Strong academic credentials and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to translate complex legal issues into clear, business-oriented advice
  • Admitted or eligible to practice in the jurisdiction of the chosen office location

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary is $185,000 annually, with actual compensation depending on qualifications and experience. Attorneys are also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. The firm offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid personal medical and parental leave, up to ten paid holidays, and family care support.
