Staff Attorney, Litigation

A law firm is seeking a Staff Attorney with at least 5 years of litigation experience to join its Century City or Los Angeles office. Remote or alternate locations will also be considered for qualified applicants. The Staff Attorney will primarily support consumer financial services litigation for a Fortune 100 company, working under the supervision of a Partner in the litigation group.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review daily litigation correspondence and pleadings, reporting time-sensitive issues to the supervising Partner.
  • Manage the litigation calendar and ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Conduct document review and supervise local counsel.
  • Draft general pleadings, including answers, pro hac vice motions, and other necessary motions.
  • Handle settlement responsibilities, including communication with opposing counsel, drafting and editing settlement agreements, and preparing related client reporting.
  • Perform routine pretrial court appearances and occasional arbitration (non-jury) merits hearings.


Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active and in good standing membership in the local State bar.
  • Strong academic credentials, excellent writing and analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented, capable of multitasking, and comfortable dealing with opposing counsel.


Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of $170,000 to $240,000, dependent on experience and qualifications.

  • Hybrid work schedule with some days in office and some remote.
