Role Overview
The firm is seeking a corporate associate to join its Rochester, NY office, working closely with a nationwide team of over 200 business attorneys on a wide array of transactions. This is a role for someone looking to build a long-term career advising on sophisticated corporate matters.
Key responsibilities include:
- Advising public and private companies, private equity funds, strategic investors, and emerging growth businesses on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and venture capital transactions.
- Leading or supporting negotiations, due diligence, structuring, and documentation of transactions.
- Handling significant commercial contracts and licensing matters.
- Collaborating with internal specialists in tax, benefits, ESG, and intellectual property as part of an integrated deal team.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience: 4–8 years working on complex M&A, venture capital, joint ventures, and significant commercial transactions.
- Skills: Excellent judgment, strong drafting and negotiation abilities, and a client-focused approach.
- Credentials: Strong academic background and demonstrated commitment to private practice.
- Location requirement: Candidates must be committed to living and working in the Rochester, NY area, with an expectation to be in the office at least three days per week.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $180,000 – $220,000 (based on factors including experience, education, and location).
- Additional contingent compensation may apply, subject to individual and firm performance.
